Abstract: Our recent studies have shown that variations in electrochemical potential can alter the structural dynamics and spin states of active sites for water splitting, directly impacting reaction kinetics and catalytic efficiency. To gain deeper insights, in situ synchrotron X-ray spectroscopy has been employed to probe these transformations at the atomic scale, providing fundamental guidance for the design of next-generation electrocatalysts.
